Designed as a donation to an annual fundraiser for DIFFA: Design Industries Fighting AIDS, we worked alongside our friends Manual Labor to create furniture that celebrates oft-overlooked pieces for the modern home. The step stool and the coat rack are sites of human connection in the home life of busy families, and facilitate gatherings and togetherness amidst the comings and goings of the household. Our pieces also address the theme of connection by exploring unique tectonic interfaces between metal and wood. The two housewares are designed to be accessible to multigenerational households; with soft corners, easy handles, and bold shapes, they are meant to be used by children, adults, and the elderly.
